We connected Now Serving NC with the team @ Jettie Rae’s & Vinnie’s to produce meals in Asheville. This effort put 16 people back to work and provided 3000 meals to Food Connection WNC!
Big thanks to Boulted Bread & Benchwarmers for donating a pallet of baked goods for Food Connection to distribute.
10-11-24 UPDATE

These items were delivered Oct 11 to Food Connection WNC:
– 210 frozen meals (840 servings) from Now Serving NC
– 150 quarts of tomato bisque from Ashley Christensen Restaurants
– 10 gallons of Brunswick stew + rolls from Sam Jones BBQ
– 8 cases of fresh bread from Boulted Bread
Wednesday – Eric & Feathered Salon collected + delivered 2 pallets of dry goods to Wake Forest Fire Dept
Friday am – Locals transported 2 pallets of canned water donated by Slingshot Coffee to Happy Dirt/Durham. These will go to World Central Kitchen on Monday.
We connected Now Serving with a team at Jettie Rae’s/Vinnies in Asheville. They are bringing ~ 16 people back to work making donation meals in Asheville.

** We also dropped meals with numerous charities working to get meals into remote places

We are handing out soup and meals at our @wncfarmersmarket shop THU OCT 3 • 10am – 4pm. We will load you up if you’re able to distribute to folks in need. We have a good supply of small styrofoam coolers to transport cold items. **FIND US IN THE LOWER WHOLESALE AREA – MARKET SHOPS C BLDG**
Our team has been working around the clock getting donations to Western North Carolina this week. Ryan and Billy have driven 3 truck loads from @wakeforestfire Station #1 to Morganton that will be airlifted into remote areas. Lin arrived in Asheville last night with 8 pallets of ready-to-eat food and supplies. Donated meals and supplies include:
▫️200 pans (each feeds 4ppl) chicken chili w/ rice from @nowservingnc
▫️Bread + Pastries from @boultedbread
▫️175 qt Tomato Bisque from @ashley_christensen
▫️175 qt Soup from @angela_maria_salamanca @centroraleigh @exvoto.durham @pattyboy.nc
▫️100 qt Chicken Congee from @heronsnc @theumstead
▫️30 qt Vegan soup from @thefictionkitchen
▫️100 qt Chili from @theplayersretreat
▫️pallet of 5 gal buckets + water containers from @slingshotcoffee
▫️Dry goods: shelf stable food, water, paper products, pet food, feminine products, baby wipes, formula + more
▫️We’ve also delivered 200 lbs of NC Catfish fillets to @burialbrewing @nengjrs @goodhotfish and @reginaswestside to prepare free meals for the community
