Our clams are available fresh in the shell or freshly shucked. If you’re not sure which size clam to purchase, consider your cooking method. The larger the clam, the chewier the meat. You’ll want to cook large clams longer to counteract that toughness. Larger clams, like Topnecks and Chowders, are good for stuffing, frying, sauces, chowders, and soup. Smaller clams, like Littlenecks and Middlenecks are good for quickly steaming, grilling, or eating raw.
Littleneck Clams: about 10 clams per pound
Middleneck Clams: about 6-8 clams per pound
Topneck Clams: about 4-6 clams per pound
Chowders: about 2-3 clams per pound
Grill, Deep-fry, Bake, Sautée, Steam
Freezing clams in-shell before preparation makes them much easier to shuck.
